Teshiktosh cave
Surkhandarya region has more than 500 cultural heritage sites. About 400
of them are archeological monuments, 30 architecture, 40 monumental art
monuments and more than 30 attractions.
There are historic sites in the
region that are proud of the city, where thousands of years of history, such as
Baktriya, Takharistan, Chaganian, were formed. It was discovered during
archaeological excavations in Teshiktash, Zarautsoy, Sopollitepa, Jarkutan,
Kizilcha, Kuchuktepa, Holchaean, Fayoztepa and Dalvarzintepa.
The cave is located at the height of
1500 kilometers above sea level, in the Baysunov ridge in the east of
Surkhandarya Province. The well-known archeologist Aleksey Pavlovich Okladnikov
discovered the remains of the neanderthal boy from the cave in 1938-1939.
In our homeland, primitive people
lived about 700,000 to 1.5 million years ago. The remains of the neanderthal
bone, found in the Teshiktash cave, became a serious phenomenon in the world of
science.
Scientists believe that the first
primitive people (Neanderthals) lived in the Middle East and Europe about
100,000 years ago.
